Presents

25th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Powwow

Selma Walker Memorial Powwow

Honoring the Founder of the NAICCO
And all those that went before us.


The powwow this year will be at
The Franklin County Fairgrounds.


The gates open at 11 am.
The Grand Entry is at 1pm.


The powwow features Native American music, arts, crafts, and foods.
Over 30 Native American craft persons and vendors.


Special performances by NAMMY Award winner-flutist Douglas BlueFeather.

$7-adults, $3-seniors & students,
Free-5 & under & participants

SKETCHES FRAME GALLERY

THE MIAMI VALLEY COUNCIL FOR NATIVE AMERICANS
Are pleased to present
 
                                                   'A LOOK BACK'
 
              INTER-TRIBAL ARTS EXPERIENCE, DAYTON, OHIO, 1990-1994
The only Fine Arts/Juried Native American Art Show held in the Miami Valley, bringing to the Dayton area hundreds of American Indian artists from across the United States.
 
        Original, limited-edition rare art posters of those events will be available for sale on opening night and throughout the month of May.  Unsigned posters will be available for $15, as will a discount for framing and matting.  All of the posters are from the original Native American artists involved in the EXPERIENCE from 1990-1994.
 
       All proceeds go to The Miami Valley Council For Native Americans as a fund raiser for their annual school supply journey to Indian reservations in North and South Dakota.
 
Opening Night:
Friday, May 4, 2007, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

             Meet the authors of LESSONS FROM TURTLE ISLAND,

                         Tahlequah, Oklahoma
 
                    Music and story telling by GA-LI, of Dayton, OH

NAICCO Benefit Dinner/NAICCO Benefit Concert Powwow
 
NAICCO is having a benefit dinner for the Center and for the Selma Walker Memorial Powwow. The dinner will be at the Franklin County Fairgrounds on Friday May 25,2007 from 6pm-8pm. The dinner will offer fine Native American cusine and will feature well known Native American educator, speaker, Elder and activist and the MC for The Selma Walker Memorial Powwow Mr. Jerry Dearly,Sr. Tickets are only $10. And can be ordered through the NAICCO PO Box 07705 Columbus, Ohio 43207-0705.
 
      NAICCO is sponsoring a benefit concert to benefit the Center and the Selma Walker Memorial Powwow  on Friday May 25,2007 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds at 8pm. The concert will feature well -known Native American Musician,speaker,Elder.activist,and environmentalist Mitch Walking Elk. Mitch has been a musician for over 30 years and is very well known for his blues and folk rock style. He has  5 cds to his credit.
